José Mourinho speaks on Real Madrid’s La Liga title chances | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has provided his take on the club’s chances of regaining their lost ground on arch rivals Barcelona in the race for Spanish football supremacy this season.

This of course comes fresh off Los Blancos slipping yet further off the pace being set by Hansi Flick’s explosive Barca on Sunday.

After making the trip across Spain’s capital for a derby day meeting with Atlético Madrid, Real were condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result.

This marked their 2nd defeat in just seven La Liga fixtures to this point in the 2026/27 campaign. With reigning champions Barcelona showing no signs of letting up in their pursuit of a third successive league title, Mourinho and co. already sit a full six points off the top of the table.

Speaking during an exchange with the media following his side’s latest fruitless outing on Sunday, Real Madrid’s headmaster was therefore drawn on his side’s title chances.

And Mourinho’s response was short and sweet, with the Portuguese having assured:

“If they leave us in peace, calm… then there’s time.”
