Jose Mourinho has reportedly sanctioned a bid for Arsenal utility player Oleksandr Zinchenko in the summer transfer window.
The Ukraine international is deemed surplus to requirements by manager Mikel Arteta after starting just five times in the Premier League last season.
Zinchenko, who joined the Gunners from Manchester City for a £30 million transfer fee in 2022, has been linked with Fulham and AC Milan, but could be on his way to Turkey.
Turkish media reports claim that Mourinho wants to sign the 28-year-old for Fenerbahce and has sanctioned a bid.
It has been suggested that the club have moved for Zinchenko after Arsenal seemingly dropped their asking price.
The north London outfit are said to be looking for a £13 million transfer fee for the player, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Turkish reporter Secran Hamzaoglu claimed on Friday that Fenerbahce “enquired” about Zinchenko’s situation. The club’s sporting director Devin Özek held a meeting in England with the Ukrainian and Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta.
It’s added Arsenal “will facilitate” a deal if Fenerbahce can come to an agreement on personal terms with Zinchenko. Mourinho has already signed Jhon Duran, Sofyan Amrabat and Milan Skriniar as he looks to build a title-contending team.
Reiss Nelson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira could also leave Arsenal as they look to sell the fringe members of their squad. Leandro Trossard may depart as well to facilitate a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Arsenal have spent nearly £200 million on new signings, but are yet to recoup any money from sales, with Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos leaving on free transfers.
