Joseba Etxeberria returns aiming to save Albacete, bottom of the Segunda | OneFootball

Joseba Etxeberria has been appointed Albacete head coach. The La Mancha side sit bottom of the Segunda with one point from eight matches.

The club said in a statement that the Basque coach, who has managed almost 150 games in Spain’s second tier, has signed until the end of the season.

The Elgoibar-born coach is back after a short stint last year in Murcia, where he was sacked around this stage of the campaign following poor results. He had not taken another job since.

Etxeberria will be joined by José Antonio Valle 'Pitxi' as assistant manager and Javi González as fitness coach.

His first session is scheduled for Monday at 11:00 at the Ciudad Deportiva Andrés Iniesta.
