After weeks of strong interest from Liverpool, PSG are increasingly confident in their chase for RB Leipzig forward, with the French champions expecting to complete the transfer in the coming days.
However, their move for the 19-year-old could open the door for Liverpool to move for PSG forward Bradley Barcola.
The Reds were interested in the Frenchman in 2025, but prioritised a move record-breaking £125m move for Alexander Isak.
But now, journalist Santi Aouna has hinted that a deal could be possible…
Speaking on X, Aouna said: “PSG is convinced that Yan Diomande will be the first summer signing.”
“Paris is confident about finalizing the deal in the coming days.”
“With the arrivals of Diomane and Akliouche, PSG would now consider offloading Bradley Barcola.”
For Liverpool, the update could influence plans in the market. Diomandé has been linked with interest from Anfield, but they could be forced to consider alternatives.
Other names linked have been Brighton’s Yankubah Minteh, Koln’s Said El Mala and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

Should Diomandé and Maghnes Akliouche both arrive in Paris, PSG are expected to consider allowing Bradley Barcola to leave. That possibility could create fresh opportunities for Liverpool as recruitment plans continue to evolve.

Transfer windows often shift quickly, and one completed deal can reshape several others. If PSG secure Diomandé, Liverpool may soon find new options emerging elsewhere in the market.
However, Arsenal are another club to have held strong interest in a move for Barcola this summer, so there could yet be strong competition for his signature.
