Liverpool Star Wanted by Premier League Rivals

The talk around Liverpool’s transfer plans have been non-stop so far this summer. With Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz already wrapped up, the Reds are planning to further strengthen their squad after a disastrous title defence.

However, the talk around exits has been incredibly quiet. Of course, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have both departed upon the expiry of their deals at Anfield. Mohamed Salah will also find a new club after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract one year early.

But since then, it has been quiet.

Alisson Becker was looking set to leave with Juventus keen, but the Brazilian is now expected to stay. The same can be said for Joe Gomez, who may be forced to stay one more year.

Curtis Jones is open to a move to Italian giants Inter Milan, but progress on that deal has stalled. A return to Serie A was also expected for Federico Chiesa, but the forward is believed to prefer to stay at Anfield under new head coach Andoni Iraola.

Any move for Gakpo wouldn’t come cheap with the Dutchman only recently siging a new contract at the club, which is set to expire in June 20230.

However, at 27 years old and off the back of an incredibly poor season, Liverpool could have a big decision to make. They will have a price and if Spurs come close to that, the door could open to a deal.

Liverpool are already making moves to strengthen their attacking department. Victor Munoz has already joined in a £34.5m move from Osasuna, whilst they are pushing hard for a major £100m+ deal for RB Leipizg’s Yan Diomande.

PSG’s Bradley Barcola remains a potential target, whilst Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo is also on Liverpool’s radar. This could be one to keep an eye on…
