Jovane Cabral has resumed training and could be available for Grêmio’s meeting with Vasco on Saturday.

According to Globo.com, the forward worked on the grass at CT Luiz Carvalho on Wednesday morning and will be reassessed up to the match, scheduled for 16:00 at the Arena.

The Cape Verdean has been out since 30 August. He was due to start against Chapecoense but felt muscle pain in the warm-up and was replaced shortly before kick-off.

Grêmio are short in the wide attacking roles this weekend. Pavon is suspended after his third yellow card. Amuzu has a muscle injury and is a doubt to face the Rio side.

The sides meet in the 27th round of the Brasileirão in a direct relegation fight. Grêmio sit 15th with 28 points, three ahead of Vasco, who are 17th and the first team in the Z-4.
