Juan Bernat joins Eibar until season's end after spell without a club

Juan Bernat has signed for Eibar until the end of the season, ending his spell without a club after leaving Getafe in June 2025. The Spaniard completed the move on Thursday.

According to L'Équipe, the Basque side hold an option to extend his deal by a further year.

Bernat, 32, previously at PSG from 2018 to 2023, did not find a team for 2025-26, in part due to surgery for a pubalgia last summer.

In late October he said he felt at full fitness and ready to take on a new challenge.

Eibar are 14th in the Spanish second tier and have been in the division since 2023. This season they are focused more on staying up, with a five-point cushion above the drop zone and an eight-point gap to the final play-off place.
