Juan Sartori sent a message to Sunderland fans after taking centre stage in jubilant scenes around the Tyne-Wear derby win at St James's Park. According to Sunderland Echo, the co-owner was prominent both before and after the match alongside fellow co-owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus.
The pair were seen pitchside before kick-off, taking in the atmosphere ahead of one of the season's standout fixtures. Their presence underlined the stakes with Sunderland chasing a league double over Newcastle.
Régis Le Bris' side fell behind early, responded with a composed second half, and won 2-1 through Brian Brobbey's late strike, which sparked wild celebrations among the 2,000 travelling supporters. Chemsdine Talbi, aged 20 years and 317 days, became Sunderland's youngest Premier League scorer against Newcastle.
After full-time, Sartori and Louis-Dreyfus appeared on the concourse, interacting with supporters and applauding near the away end. Their visibility fed into a growing bond between the ownership and the fanbase.
The result carried weight in the rivalry's history. Sunderland are unbeaten in their last 11 league meetings with Newcastle and have now secured their first league double since 2014-15. Newcastle's wait for a league derby win dates to 2011, and their last home league win against Sunderland came in 2010.
Sartori later posted a short video and symbols in red and white, capturing the drama and the club's "Till the End" mantra. He wrote of a last-minute away triumph decided by heart to the very end.
