Juçara Sampaio, 77, is a long-standing Grêmio member, her devotion spanning generations. According to Globo.com, the Torcedor de Carteirinha series profiles long-standing members of Gauchão clubs and this edition spotlights her.

Born in Palmeira das Missões in the north of the state, she learned to love the Tricolor with her father, Miguel. Despite living 380 km away, trips to the Estádio Olímpico were frequent.

Over time her passion matured and the stadium she called a second home became part of her family story. In 1983 she travelled to Porto Alegre to see Grêmio conquer the continent, and there she met Luiz Carlos, who later became her husband.

The couple kept attending together and raised their daughter, Luizi, amid terraces, songs and flags. From a young age Luizi revelled in goals, hugging her father as the celebrations rolled.

Sampaio recalls once breaking a rib during an avalanche after Junior Viçosa scored against Cruzeiro. It hurt, but she kept going to matches, sitting quietly to recover.

Now retired, she speaks with pride about a membership of more than 40 years and a love inherited from her father. She says she wants another Copa do Brasil and a Sul-Americana, which the club do not yet have.

From the stands, she intends to keep backing the club she cherishes, passing that legacy to her daughter.
