Jude Bellingham arrived at Real Madrid close to 16 months ago as a youngster aiming to touch the stars at his new club. In just a year, however, he reached the pinnacle of club football, winning the UEFA Champions League.

What made his journey to the top all the more special was that he immensely contributed to the team’s success with his red-hot start to the season. He may have fizzled out towards the tail end, but he was one of Real Madrid’s most vital cogs.

This year, the player started off on the right foot but suffered an unfortunate setback early in the campaign. Now back in action, he stares at a critical period ahead with not only a rematch against his former club but also El Clasico around the corner.

Bellingham comments on playing for Real Madrid

In a recent interaction with VERSUS, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham was asked about what it felt like to play alongside the best in the business including Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo in attack.

“It took some getting used to but now you just see them as normal people. In the first few weeks I had to remind myself that I’m here playing with them for a reason because I’ve earned it,” he said.

“But occasionally they do things that leave me a little bit lost for words, and I’d like to think they feel the same when they see some of the things I can do on the pitch too,” he added on their magic.

The Real Madrid star was then asked what his biggest learning was from the past year in which he won not only La Liga but also the UEFA Champions League.

“It would be difficult for me to only choose one because I learnt things in different aspects of the game, but I would probably say just learning about the culture and throwing myself into the history of Real Madrid.”

“It’s really helped me because I feel like I understand the responsibility and privilege I have when I put the kit on and feel that badge on my chest, it’s something I will never take for granted,” he added.
