Fran Garcia’s departure from Real Madrid has prompted an emotional reaction from one of his closest friends in the dressing room. 

Shortly after the Spanish defender completed his permanent move to Real Betis, Jude Bellingham took to social media to pay tribute to his former teammate, thanking him for his professionalism and wishing him success in the next chapter of his career.

This Real Madrid news comes after Los Blancos confirmed a major outgoing transfer, with Fran Garcia ending his second spell at the Santiago Bernabeu after four seasons back at the club.

Fran Garcia completes Real Betis transfer

Real Betis officially announced the signing of Fran Garcia, confirming that the 26-year-old has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.

The deal sees Real Madrid receive €4 million for the remaining 50% of the left-back’s economic rights.

Considering Garcia was entering the final year of his contract, the agreement was a sensible piece of business for the Spanish giants while allowing the defender to secure regular first-team football.

Garcia’s journey with Real Madrid has been unique. After progressing through the club’s academy, he spent three successful years at Rayo Vallecano before earning a return to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2023. 

Across his two spells with Los Blancos, the Spanish full-back made 110 appearances, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.

Although opportunities became more limited in recent months, Garcia remained a respected figure within the dressing room thanks to his work ethic and professionalism.

Garcia’s exit has clearly been felt by several members of the Real Madrid squad, none more so than Jude Bellingham.

Currently away on international duty at the World Cup, the England midfielder still found time to send a heartfelt message to the defender after his move to Real Betis was confirmed.

Bellingham wrote, “Good luck in your new chapter, my brother. One of the most professional players I have ever seen.

“It was a pleasure. You deserve nothing but the best.

“I love you.”
