Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has on Sunday secured for himself a piece of Spanish football history.
This comes as a result of his efforts in Los Blancos’ showdown with arch rivals Barcelona.
Bellingham was for his part afforded a starting berth this evening, as Real Madrid welcomed reigning champions Barca to the Santiago Bernabéu for a La Liga clash.
And to this point in proceedings, the England international has proven himself the star of the show.
Bellingham was first responsible for laying on the game’s opener, courtesy of a wonderful turn and defence-splitting pass for Kylian Mbappé.
The 22-year-old then turned goalscorer himself to restore the hosts’ advantage courtesy of a close-range finish late in the first-half.
And such exploits, as alluded to above, have since culminated in Bellingham etching his name into the Clásico record books.
As revealed by statisticians Opta, the former Borussia Dortmund talent has broken teammate Vinícius Jr’s record as the youngest Real Madrid player to both score and assist in a meeting with Barcelona in the 21st century.
