Real Madrid received a timely boost in their push for silverware as Jude Bellingham made his long-awaited return to action after nearly two months on the sidelines.
The England international was introduced in the 75th minute against Atletico Madrid, replacing Arda Guler and marking an important step in his recovery.
Having been forced to watch from the sidelines during a crucial period of the season, Bellingham admitted it was not an easy spell.
But his return coincided with another strong team performance, something he was quick to acknowledge.
“Just like in the other games, the team is playing incredibly well right now; defending and attacking very well.
“As always, but especially in the last two or three games, and that’s why we’re winning so much,” he told RMTV.
The derby atmosphere also left a strong impression on the midfielder, who has already experienced some unforgettable nights at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With the crowd fully behind the team during one of the biggest fixtures of the season, Bellingham highlighted just how important that support can be.
“The atmosphere was incredible. The fans on nights like this are always incredible. This atmosphere helps us a lot, and that’s why the team’s effort is so high.

“Especially in derbies, or against City, all the players really feel the fans’ support when they’re here at the Bernabeu.”
Looking back on his recovery process, Bellingham did not hide the emotional toll the injury had taken.
Being away from competitive football for such a long stretch was difficult, but returning to the pitch has clearly lifted his spirits.
“Very long. Seven weeks. I was sad for a long time, but now I’m happy because I’m back training with my teammates.”
During his absence, other players stepped up, and Bellingham made sure to recognise their contributions.
In particular, he singled out Vinicius Jr. and Federico Valverde, both of whom played key roles in maintaining the team’s level.
“Incredible. In tough times, these two always find a way to step up and help the team. During periods when we’ve had a lot of injuries, they’ve always helped the team.
“Fede is a great example of attitude, and Vini is an example of how to bounce back from a difficult time. What they’re doing right now is incredible,” he concluded.
