Jürgen Klopp is again being linked with the Germany job, with Sport Bild claiming there is a realistic chance he could replace Julian Nagelsmann this summer. Since taking over as Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer in January 2025, speculation over a coaching return has persisted.
Despite Nagelsmann’s deal running to 2028, the possibility is said to be increasingly discussed within Red Bull and deemed very plausible, the report adds. It also views a move to Real Madrid as highly unlikely.
Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, has said the German Football Association has enquired several times and indicated his client might struggle to refuse the national job, even if he does not feel obliged to take it.
Last month, Salzburger Nachrichten suggested Klopp could be on his way out of Red Bull. However, Sport Bild says an early termination of his contract, which runs until 2029, has not been discussed.
“As a person, I’m completely at peace with where I am,” Klopp said. “I don’t want to be somewhere else.” He told Bulinews.com in January.
“At the moment, I would say no, but I can’t say ‘never, never, never’.”
