Jürgen Klopp has reached an agreement in principle to become Germany head coach after a breakthrough in talks with the DFB, Sky Germany reports.

The 59-year-old former Liverpool manager would take charge until after the 2030 World Cup under the proposed deal.

Contract details are being clarified, and his departure from his current role at Red Bull is expected to be finalised at the start of next week.

Julian Nagelsmann left the post following Germany’s World Cup round-of-32 exit to Paraguay.

In the aftermath, the DFB planned talks with Klopp about succeeding Nagelsmann.
