Atlético Madrid star Julián Alvarez has spoken out on his current fitness levels, ahead of the club’s upcoming showdown with Arsenal.

Diego Simeone’s troops are of course primed to return to action on the continent this coming week.

A Champions League semi-final first-leg meeting with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal lies in wait, at the Metropolitano.

In the days leading up to the clash, it has been suggested that the aforementioned Julián Alvarez could miss out, after sitting out Atléti’s La Liga victory over Athletic Club at the weekend.

Speaking during an exchange with the media on Monday, the Argentine was therefore asked for an update on his wellbeing.

And Alvarez’s response will no doubt quell fears across the Spanish capital, after the former Manchester City standout assured:

“I’m at 100% and ready to play.”

Alvarez will now be expected to slot straight back into Diego Simeone’s XI to face Arsenal on Wednesday night.
