Julian Brandt trains at Bayer Leverkusen as Leeds target’s future undecided | OneFootball

Leeds United target Julian Brandt has been pictured training at former club Bayer Leverkusen while a decision on his future remains open.

The 30-year-old is a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, his father Jurgen attended Thorp Arch for talks, although Leeds are not the only side keen.

With no pre-season camp to report to, Brandt returned to Leverkusen’s BayArena base, where images on the club’s official Instagram on Tuesday showed him working alongside current Arsenal striker Kai Havertz. The pair were team-mates at Die Werkself between 2016 and 2019.

Brandt first broke through at Leverkusen after joining from Wolfsburg in 2014, going on to make 215 appearances with 42 goals and 52 assists, and earning a Bundesliga Team of the Season place in his final campaign. He left for Dortmund in 2019 in a €25 million move.

At Signal Iduna Park he produced 57 goals and 70 assists in 307 games, claimed the DFB-Pokal, and was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season in 2022/23. He also played in last season’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
