Sky Germany reports that Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann intends to see out his role as Bundestrainer.

Nagelsmann’s contract as head coach of the national team does not expire until 2028, and the plan is for him to fulfil his deal before potentially returning to club football. What this means is that the former Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim head coach is also not considering a return to coaching a club now, with his full focus on next summer.

However, in the 38-year-old’s contract with the German national team, there is a termination clause if the Nationalmannschaft fails to get out of the group stages for the third time in a row next summer. While there is another termination clause in the summer of 2027.

Germany’s record under Nagelsmann:

Since taking over as Bundestrainer in September of 2023, Nagelsmann has led Germany to the Euros quarter finals in the 2024 home tournament, the Nations League finals last summer, as well as the World Cup next summer.

During this time, the 38-year-old has won 17 games.
