Junior Diaz has signed a one-year extension at Troyes, keeping him under contract until the end of June 2030. The club announced the deal on Thursday and said the defender had chosen to continue his adventure with the team.
The Ligue 2 champions are shaping their centre-back options while awaiting reinforcements in several areas. Diaz, 23, is in pre-season with the promoted side after spending last season on loan at Brest, where he made 21 appearances.
He joined Troyes in 2024 on a contract that initially ran to 2029. The extension ties him to the club for a further year beyond that original term.
Head coach Stéphane Dumont rates the Ivorian, who is targeting a starting spot alongside captain Adrien Monfray, 34, at the heart of the defence.
Troyes aim to stay up and consolidate in Ligue 1, and Diaz’s pace and anticipation are viewed as a strong complement to Monfray’s experience.
