Over the past few days, with Carlo Ancelotti’s position at Real Madrid becoming uncertain, Jurgen Klopp has been rumoured as a possible candidate to take over the reins at the club.

After having left Liverpool in 2024, the German tactician has taken up a role as the Head of Global Soccer with the Red Bull Group.

However, reports earlier this month suggested that Klopp is not entirely happy with his current role and could be open to a return to coaching for two jobsReal Madrid or the Brazil national team.

Agent rules out return

Amidst the growing speculations though, Klopp’s top agent, Marc Kosicke, has come out and cleared the air, stating that the German is very happy with his current role and as such has ruled out a potential return to coaching.

“Jurgen is very happy with his new role as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull,” Kosicke told Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The update from Plettenberg further states that Klopp has emerged as a target for several clubs and national teams who have made enquiries about his availability.

However, as things stand, a return to coaching next season is not something that the Liverpool legend has on his agenda – not even at Real Madrid or Brazil.

Xabi Alonso the main target

As is already well-established, Xabi Alonso remains Real Madrid’s priority target to take over the reins from Ancelotti.

The former Spanish international has done a solid job at Bayer Leverkusen in a short time and his work at the club is greatly admired by the higher-ups at Valdebebas.

Thus, if and when Ancelotti’s time at the Santiago Bernabeu comes to an end, all signs indicate that it will be Alonso who will step in as the next manager of Real Madrid.
