It doesn’t appear there’ll be a coaching change shortly after the shocking 5-1 loss to Fiorentina, also because Roma, like the rest of Serie A, will return on the pitch in a hurry due to a midweek round. Ivan Juric took stock of the debacle to Sky and DAZN (via SOSFanta).
“We did everything wrong today. I didn’t expect it. It’s as if we forgot everything we worked on so. There are no excuses and there’s very little to say. There was no attention nor concentration. We had given up five goals in the previous seven matches combined before this one.”
Juric was asked whether he feared to be sacked.
“You know how football works. We threw everything in the toilet today: solidity, the growth of the youngsters, and veterans playing to their level. The decision is up to others. I’m still convinced we’ve done some good things here. I’ve never thought about resigning. A bad night doesn’t cancel 40 days. I think the squad is still with him, or we wouldn’t have obtained the previous good results. The players are the sorriest about it.”
Juric replaced Bryan Cristante and Angelino after just 30 minutes to try to wake up his team.

We don’t have a large roster, and everybody must be part of it. I don’t need to send any signal. I look at the performances and trainings. The former has had some good displays, but not this one. Roma can’t leave anybody behind and must bring the best out of them.”
