Arsenal are reportedly prepared to consider a permanent departure for Viktor Gyökeres, but Juventus and AC Milan would have to make a major financial commitment if they want to take the Swedish striker back to mainland Europe. The 28-year-old has experienced a significant change in circumstances at the Emirates after playing an important role in Arsenal’s Premier League title-winning 2025/26 campaign.

With his minutes reduced this season, speculation about a possible exit has grown, but the Gunners apparently have no interest in sanctioning a temporary move.

Arsenal demand more than £60m for Gyökeres

According to TuttoJuve, both Juventus and AC Milan are keeping a close eye on Gyökeres ahead of 2027.

Milan are reported to have explored the possibility of a loan, but Arsenal’s stance is clear: they would only consider a permanent transfer and currently value the striker at more than £60million, equivalent to around €70m.

That valuation makes a January deal particularly difficult. Both Italian clubs have other areas of their squads requiring investment, meaning spending such a significant percentage of their budget on one striker may not be realistic.

Juventus’ interest is currently described as monitoring rather than an active negotiation.

Gunners’ valuation shows they are unwilling to take major loss

Arsenal’s position is understandable given how recently they invested heavily in Gyökeres.

The striker arrived from Sporting CP in July 2025 after scoring an extraordinary 97 goals in 102 appearances for the Portuguese club. Arsenal described him as signing a long-term contract, giving them considerable control over his future.

He also contributed significantly during his debut campaign, reaching 20 Arsenal goals and helping the club win the Premier League.

That makes a cheap exit difficult to justify even if his role has declined in 2026/27. Arsenal would surely prefer to recover a substantial portion of their investment rather than strengthen Juventus or Milan through a convenient loan arrangement.

For the Serie A clubs, the key question is therefore whether Arsenal’s valuation drops before next summer.

At £60m-plus, Gyökeres remains an expensive opportunity rather than an obvious bargain.
