The 31-year-old has already equalled Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne’s assist record by creating 20 goals this season, and he will have the opportunity to set a new record on the final day of the season against Crystal Palace.

Nevertheless, Man Utd insider Sully expects Fernandes to stick around for years to come, revealing that the two parties could soon negotiate a new contract.

“Bruno Fernandes is happy at MUFC and has had meetings with the club in recent months with a general expectation being that he’ll stay beyond the summer,” posted the journalist on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

“There’s been some speculation regarding his release clause but that isn’t expected to be an issue. A new contract hasn’t been ruled out.”
