Real Madrid are set to take on Villarreal on Saturday in their final La Liga fixture before the first international break of 2025.
Having just about survived against Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, Los Blancos will be eager to produce a strong display and go into the break on a high.
However, Real Madrid could be left without one of their most important players for the contest against Villarreal this weekend.
Indeed, according to AS, Vinicius Jr. is a major doubt for Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal after missing training due to discomfort.
While his injury does not appear serious, his availability for Estadio de La Ceramica remains uncertain.

Following a rest day, the squad returned to training at Valdebebas, with most players present but completing a light recovery session.
However, Vinicius was nowhere to be seen. The Brazilian stayed indoors, undergoing physiotherapy and gym work instead.
The winger’s condition is also a concern for the Brazilian national team, who face two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina Argentina later this month.
Real Madrid are being extremely cautious with Vinicius, not willing to take unnecessary risks. He was the only absentee from the final training session before the Villarreal match.
Meanwhile, four other key players – Antonio Rudiger, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe – are all struggling with fatigue but are expected to play. However, they desperately need rest, though finding the right time for that remains difficult.
Ferland Mendy is out of the game after getting injured in the midweek Euroderbi. He joins Dani Carvajal, Dani Ceballos, Eder Militao, and Jesus Vallejo on the sidelines.
