In a significant development, Vinicius Junior could be on his way out of Real Madrid sooner than expected after he informed the club of his desire not to renew his contract.

According to The Athletic, the Brazilian international has told club president Florentino Perez that he won’t accept Real Madrid’s offer.

However, there is a catch. The primary reason Vinicius has given for his decision to not renew the contract is Xabi Alonso.

It appears Vinicius doesn’t want to renew his contract at Real Madrid while his relationship his coach Alonso remains strained. After all, the forward was once again benched in Real Madrid’s most recent game against Elche.

Talks have stalled completely

The report has pointed out that renewal efforts between Vinicius Jr. and Real Madrid have completely stalled, with real hope of a miracle.

Therefore, as things stand, Vinicius could be on the verge of leaving Real Madrid sooner rather than later, having already been on the radar of several Saudi Arabian clubs.

Vinicius’ last contract at Real Madrid came back in 2022, according to which he earns €18 million salary. a year after tax while, release clause is set at €1 billion.

Real Madrid made a new offer for the Brazilian in earlier this year, notably giving an upgraded salary of €20 million, but it was rejected as the player was holding out for the same money as Kylian Mbappe.

Vinicius, for his part, has blamed Xabi Alonso as the main reason about his departure.

The road ahead for Vinicius, therefore, is a move away from Santiago Bernabeu, with clubs from Saudi Arabia as well as the Paris Saint-Germain more than prepared to sign the forward in the near future.
