Black and Yellow jerseys, flags, and scarves dominated the scene outside the stadium and in the stands two years ago. The BVB fans transformed the Volkspark into a home-game atmosphere. On the field, the First team capped off the experience with a 4-1 victory.

Fans can look forward to an extraordinary atmosphere against HEBC as well. As of Friday, the Oberliga club had already sold 39,400 tickets. Even though the stadium’s maximum capacity of 57,000 spectators is not expected to be reached, President Konstantin Zimmermann is pleased with the response: “It’s already outstanding. The dream has already come true.”

The attendance record set during the match against Phönix Lübeck is not expected to be broken this time. That game took place on a Saturday, whereas BVB is now playing a midweek match in Hamburg. That doesn’t change the anticipation for the evening: The Volksparkstadion will once again become the gathering place for the Black and Yellows fans. (cr)
