Justin Haak confirms he is leaving NYCFC

Haak wrote the following: "Without this organization I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I have made countless relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. Even though throughout my 10 years playing for NYCFC it didn’t always go the way I envisioned it I wouldn’t change any of it now. As a whole I am forever grateful for the opportunities that were given to me as well as the challenges that made me stronger. I can leave this club and city knowing I gave it everything I had every single day."

He added, "I will always be supporting and rooting for my guys. Thank you @newyorkcityfc and most importantly all the fans for the support and passion throughout my time with this club."

Undoubtedly, Haak did love NYCFC. He wore the crest with pride and represented the Big Apple extremely well. It took time for him to become a starter, but once he did, there was no going back. It is a shame that his tenure is ending this way, and that he did not re-sign with the Boys in Blue and leave via a transfer to Europe in a year or two.

Meanwhile, his teammates expressed their love for him and how they will miss Haak at NYCFC. Players like Thiago Martins, Maxi Moralez, and Hannes Wolf were just some of the players to comment on his Instagram, expressing how they will miss him. In addition, Keaton Parks confirmed that he will be heading to California.

In his comment, the midfielder wrote, "Gonna miss you man! All the best. See you in February!" Based on the NYCFC schedule, the Pigeons will open the 2026 season on the road against the Galaxy. In other words, Parks revealed that Haak is signing with LA.

It is not often that a player tells fans that he or she is leaving a team. Haak decided to do so, telling everyone that his time with NYCFC is coming to an end. This is a sad day, but at least he was transparent and honest.
