Justine Madugu has been named best coach of the 2024 Women's AFCON. The Nigeria head coach is honored after leading the Super Falcons to their tenth continental crown, following a thrilling final comeback against Morocco (3-2) this Saturday, July 26, in Rabat.
Justine Madugu left his mark on this edition with bold choices and his ability to unite a refreshed squad. Right from the start of the tournament, he brought in eleven new players, opting for a clever blend of experience and youth. This strategy enabled Nigeria to overcome every obstacle, especially in the semifinal against South Africa, where his tactical adjustments proved decisive.
Against Morocco in the final, the Super Falcons overturned a two-goal deficit to claim a 3-2 victory. This spectacular turnaround highlighted the mental and technical preparation orchestrated by the 61-year-old Nigerian tactician.
