Juventus add Porto’s Pepe to list of potential attacking reinforcements | OneFootball

Juventus are reportedly interested in Porto’s Brazilian winger Pepe as an option this transfer window, but the Old Lady are only likely to negotiate with the Portuguese giants if they are able to move a number of current squad members on first.

How and why Juventus could be interested in Pepe

Pepe, not to be confused with the 41-year-old former Real Madrid defender, is a two-time Brazil international, although he does hold an Italian passport, and according to Tuttosport, had been considered for a call-up to the Italy squad while Roberto Mancini was in charge.

A natural winger by trade, Pepe can, however, cover a number of different roles in the attacking third of the pitch, which is why he is considered as an interesting option for Juventus.

The Bianconeri would ideally like to provide Thiago Motta with at least one new attacking option before the close of the transfer window. A move for Teun Koopmeiners is still in the works, and a new defender is also on the wishlist.

The issue is, Juventus will not know exactly how much they can spend on new players until they move a few of the current crop on first. Matias Soule is heading for Leicester City, which could fetch the club around €30m in transfer fees. Federico Chiesa is also increasingly likely to leave, as is Arkadiusz Milik.

Once Juventus complete a few more outgoings, they will be in a better position to understand who they might be able to bring in.

In terms of the attacking department, a loan move for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho remains the ideal scenario according to reports from Tuttosport, however, there are still a number of different profiles Juventus would like to evaluate, including Pepe, Karim Adeyemi and Johan Bakayoko of PSV.
