Juventus are tracking all sorts of options to address their need for a new goalie, and, while Inter are sprinting to capture Guglielmo Vicario, the Bianconeri, after probing Alisson and Emiliano Martinez, are doing their due diligence on some younger foreign players, like Guillame Restes, Diogo Costa, and Konstantinos Tzolakis.
According to Calciomercato, the first one is the favorite of CEO Damien Comolli, who saw him grow at Toulouse. He debuted in Ligue 1 when he had just turned 18 and has piled up 101 appearances, keeping 28 clean sheets and allowing 129 goals. He manned the sticks for the French Olympic Team in 2024, winning a silver medal. His price tag is roughly €20M.
While Restes has strong supporters in Juventus management, Luciano Spalletti prefers a surefire veteran who wouldn’t need to learn the ropes at a big club. Diogo Costa would be a compromise between the two visions, as he’s 26 and has played at a high level at Porto for years, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs. His name has come up in conversations with Jorge Mendes involving Bernardo Silva. On the other hand, he is extremely expensive, as his price tag is €45/50M.
The Old Lady might prefer Marco Carnesecchi at those numbers. Their officials have also scouted Tzolakis in a recent mission in Greece, where they also took a closer look at Ernest Poku and Christos Mouzakitis, TuttoSport relays.
We’ll see whether Comolli will still be at the helm at the end of the season, plus his Toulouse exit wasn’t exactly peachy, which wouldn’t help if they wanted Restes. Michele Di Gregorio’s downfall might scare them away from signing shot-stoppers from smaller sides, as talented as they might be.
