Serie A side Juventus could be prepared to part ways with Andrea Cambiaso and Chelsea are now trying to structure their deal for the Italy international.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report this evening that discussions between the two clubs are now heating up.
The full-back is a key part of those talks but talks have broadened to also include Nicolas Jackson in a deal. Barcelona are also competing for the Italian and would be happy to offer Ronald Araujo as part of their move.
But it is the Blues who are making progress, as they will be happy to offer a fee of €27 million to €28 million. This is enough to give hope to Juve that some more negotiations can be held but it is only a starting point. The Old Lady want more and that is why Jackson could be part of the deal.
His addition will help Chelsea meet Cambiaso’s asking price and beat Barcelona to his signature.
In a way, this could be a good deal for Xabi Alonso’s side. They will get a player who plays left-back, inverts into midfield and also plays out wide further forward. At the same time, they will get rid of an unwanted player who isn’t part of their plans at all.
