Juventus and Inter Milan fighting for Serie A midfielder

Juventus are set to focus again on signing players from Italian teams, a strategy they avoided when Damien Comolli was in charge of transfers at the club in the summer of 2025.

He focused on markets outside Italy and signed the likes of Jonathan David and Lois Openda. We cannot say they struggled simply because they were signed from outside Serie A, but both transfers have failed to work out, and this was reportedly part of the reason Comolli was let go by the Bianconeri.

Juve are now looking to snap up the best talents in Italian football, and one of the players on their radar is Fiorentina’s Cher Ndour, who they have followed for some time.

The Bianconeri have been aware of his talents since he was on the books of Benfica, as he was already regarded as one of the best young Italian talents. He also had a spell at PSG before moving on in his career.

Ndour was sold to Fiorentina, where the 22-year-old continues to develop and grow as a player.

Juventus would be hopeful that he maintains his upward trajectory, although time will tell whether he can continue progressing and fulfil his potential.

The Bianconeri are keen to strengthen their squad with promising players, and returning their focus to Serie A could give them the opportunity to secure talents who already have experience of Italian football.

Inter Milan provide competition

According to Tuttojuve, Ndour is on Juventus’ radar, but the Bianconeri are not alone in their interest.

Inter Milan also believes he is one of the top players to sign and is prepared to challenge the Old Lady for his signature.

The competition between the two Italian giants could make any potential move more difficult for Juventus, particularly if Inter Milan decide to push strongly for the Fiorentina midfielder.

For now, Juventus remain interested in Ndour, while the player continues to develop at Fiorentina.

Juve will hope their long-standing interest can eventually help them win the race for his signature, but they face a significant challenge from Inter Milan.
