Juventus and Italy winger Federico Chiesa has revealed that it was an emotional experience for him to score in front of his father against Bulgaria.
The Juve star was on the scoresheet for the Azzurri in the first-half and while Italy didn’t win the game, Chiesa’s goal helped the side equal Spain and Brazil in terms of the highest unbeaten streak in international football.
Speaking to Rai Sport, Chiesa claimed: “Scoring in front of my father represented a strong emotion. It was a beautiful image but tonight I would have liked to win. We didn’t take home the three points. They would have made us think about Sunday in a more serene manner.”
23-year-old Chiesa has now scored four goals for the national team, with his previous one coming against Spain in the Euros.
