Both Tottenham and Juventus have announced that Guglielmo Vicario has signed for Juventus on a loan deal with an option to buy.
The Italian signed for Spurs in 2023 from Empoli and has since played 117 matches for the club, most notably contributing to their Europa League triumph in 2025.
While at Spurs, Vicario earned his first senior caps for Italy. He made his debut in 2024 in a 2-0 win over Ecuador.
Juventus said in a statement: “The agreement also grants Juventus the option to acquire the player’s sporting rights on a permanent basis. The agreed fee for the potential permanent acquisition is €8 million; this amount may be increased by up to €2 million during the term of the player’s contract, subject to the achievement of specific objectives.”
Juventus had previously been linked with bringing in Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa, but instead they have opted for the Italian this summer.
Vicario underwent hernia surgery in April and was replaced in the Spurs starting 11 by Antonin Kinsky in his absence. This also coincided with Roberto De Zerbi taking over as Tottenham boss.
Spurs have also added Martin Dubravka this summer as a backup keeper on a free transfer.
Once the Italian came back, he could not get back in the side after impressive performances from Kinsky. He will now begin a new chapter in Italy as Juventus’ number one.
