Juventus bring back Neto, 37, as back-up keeper until season end | OneFootball

Juventus announced on Monday afternoon the return of Brazilian goalkeeper Neto, 37, as their number two until the end of the season. The free agent has been without a club since leaving Botafogo in June.

Neto previously spent two seasons in Turin from 2015 to 2017, serving as Gianluigi Buffon’s understudy. He is expected to sit behind Guglielmo Vicario, 29, in the goalkeeping pecking order.

His arrival follows a serious knee injury to Kamil Grabara, sustained in a Europa League match against Nijmegen that finished 5-0. The Poland international is expected to be out for around seven months.

During his first spell at Juventus, Neto made 22 appearances in all competitions. He had joined from Fiorentina, then later moved to Valencia and Barcelona, again in a back-up role.

He subsequently featured for Bournemouth before joining Botafogo, once more as the second-choice goalkeeper.
