After a flurry of speculations over his future, Dani Ceballos ended up staying at Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old Spanish international came very close to securing a transfer to Marseille in France, but ended up backing out of the operation.

A move to his former club Real Betis was also talked about, but the La Liga side’s financial situation meant that it was never really on the cards.

Another club who showed an interest in acquiring Ceballos in the summer but did not make any move were Juventus. But that may not be the end of the story.

Juventus weigh up January move for Ceballos

Indeed, according to TuttoMercatoWeb in Italy, Juventus are considering reviving their interest in Ceballos during the January transfer window.

The Bianconeri remain keen on adding a new midfielder to their squad in the winter and, as such, are closely monitoring Ceballos’ situation at Real Madrid.

Juventus consider the 29-year-old Spaniard a good fit for their plans due to his technical ability and proven pedigree at the highest level.

Ceballos has had a marginal role in the Real Madrid team under new manager Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard barely played at the FIFA Club World Cup and has only managed to collect 22 minutes under his belt from the first three games of the ongoing season.

If his situation does not improve in the coming months and he continues to struggle for relevancy, Juventus intend to make a move for him come January 2026.

Ceballos has a contract with Real Madrid until 2027. The Merengues were demanding a fee of around €15 million for him in the summer and might again stick to that valuation if any interested party comes forward in the winter window.
