Juventus are laying the groundwork to sign a new top-shelf center-back, and they have recently examined Joel Ordonez in detail. However, his price tag and the competition to sign him make him a challenging target, Alfredo Pedullà informs.
He’s likely to depart Club Brugge to join a top team following a successful run, but his valuation is around €40M. He was acquired for just €4M from Independiente in 2022. He has totaled 125 appearances since then, scoring 7 goals. The 22-year-old has 16 appearances with Ecuador under his belt. He was linked to Inter and Atalanta in the past.
Juventus will have to tangle with some Premier League sides to capture Ordonez. The Bianconeri will likely lose one man at the position. Gleison Bremer isn’t for sale, but he has a somewhat manageable release clause. Instead, their officials are fielding offers for Federico Gatti, who has had a very limited role in recent months.
As far as the alternatives go, the Old Lady also tested the waters for Mario Gila, who’s wanted by basically every Serie A powerhouse. Instead, they have moved on from Marcos Senesi, who will leave Bournemouth on a free. He asked for double what they were offering salary-wise.
Per Calciomercato, Liverpool are also after the Club Brugge starlet. However, they are considering Bremer too, should they decide to go for a veteran instead.
If they don’t use him, they might as well cash in on Gatti. Lloyd Kelly has been fine, but Luciano Spalletti hasn’t even tried the other duo. They must retain Bremer and pair him up with a better ball handler to level up at the position.
