Juventus director Ricky Massara expresses confidence in Luciano Spalletti | OneFootball

Serie A side Juventus take on NEC Nijmegen in their opening Europa League tie today. There have been doubts about Luciano Spalletti in recent days and this has only caused anxiety amongst fans, especially following their 3-2 loss to Sassuolo.

The Italian has revealed earlier this week that he is blocking out pressure and isn’t affected by it.

Ahead of the tie against the Dutch side, Juventus sporting director Ricky Massara was asked about the situation.

He made it clear that the club completely trusts Spalletti to get things on track, suggesting that the performances will improve soon.

Massara told Sky – via Sportmediaset: “All of us who wear the Juventus uniform have a duty not to downplay even a single dropped point, but we must conduct calm analysis, and this analysis begins with one certainty: that the team is in excellent hands and that the club has complete faith in the coach’s abilities and in the team itself.”

“We trust that with hard work this growth process can happen quickly.”

He was also asked about Juventus’ approach in the transfer window. Massara revealed his confidence that the new signings will do well in Turin.

“Many interesting things were done during the transfer window, always within the limits imposed by UEFA, but we’re satisfied with what we’ve achieved. We know we’ve made a lot of changes; there are eight new players on the pitch tonight. Juventus is seventh in terms of playing time for new players, and this must lead us to be patient in building something that can be profitable.” 

A win against NEC today could be an important point of the season and it can give Juventus the confidence to turn things around and hand Spalletti control of the situation too.
