Juventus directors Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini have received suspensions after a heated Derby d’Italia, with several Serie A players also fined or banned.
According to Football Italia, the sports judge issued sanctions following round 25. The heaviest was for Juventus CEO Comolli, suspended until 31 March and fined €15,000 for an aggressive, intimidating approach towards referee Federico La Penna at half-time after Pierre Kalulu’s dismissal.
Comolli also tried to make physical contact but was stopped by Juventus staff, and the confrontation continued outside the referees’ dressing room. Chiellini has been banned until 27 February for agitated and disrespectful protests in the tunnel and near the officials’ room.
Elsewhere, Milan sporting director Igli Tare was fined €10,000 after entering the pitch to protest following Milan’s 2-1 win at Pisa. Gift Orban received a two-match ban for comments to the referee during Hellas Verona’s 2-1 defeat to Parma.
Kalulu must serve a one-match suspension despite being wrongly sent off in the 42nd minute against Inter. Como forward Alvaro Morata will miss one match after two quick bookings in a 2-1 loss to Fiorentina. Adrien Rabiot will also be suspended for one game after two yellows in Milan’s win at Pisa.
One-match bans also await players who reached five bookings in round 25, namely Inter pair Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu, Hellas Verona’s Jean Daniel Akpa Akpro, Parma’s Alessandro Circati, Fiorentina’s Rolando Mandragora and Sassuolo’s Tarik Muharemovic.
