Juventus fails to find agreement after latest meeting with Kessie’s entourage

Juventus are pushing to sign Franck Kessie, and they currently have the advantage in the race, as he prioritises joining them over other clubs this summer.

He has just returned after spending three seasons in Saudi Arabia, and the midfielder wants to end his career in the Italian top flight. He has since given preference to Juventus, and the club asked him to wait for them to make some sales to create space in their wage bill to accommodate his salary.

Juventus face Kessie competition

Kessie wants the move and has been waiting for them, but AS Roma are tempting him with an offer to reunite with Gian Piero Gasperini, and Juve are worried. The Bianconeri have now stepped up their interest in adding him to their squad during this window, and they met with his entourage yesterday to try to close the deal.

After discussing their offer for some time, Calciomercato says Kessie rejected the offer that was made yesterday, so the parties could not reach an agreement. The result means Juventus have more work to do before they can secure the midfielder’s signature.

Kessie remains keen on returning to Serie A, but Juventus must now convince him that Turin is the right destination. Their interest has been clear, yet the failed meeting shows that there is still a gap between the two sides.

Juventus prepare another meeting

A new meeting has been scheduled in the hope that an agreement can be reached, but after the first meeting, Juve have failed to convince him to join their squad. The next discussions will therefore be important as they attempt to resolve the situation before the transfer window closes.

Juventus have already asked Kessie to wait while they make sales and create room for his salary, showing that they have been planning for his arrival. However, Roma’s interest gives the midfielder another option and could increase the pressure on the Bianconeri.

In the coming days, the two parties will meet again, and this time Juve hope to close the deal. The club cannot afford to let the situation drag on for too long, as the transfer window is closing soon and Kessie might begin to consider other offers.

For now, Juventus remain his preferred destination, but the first meeting did not produce the agreement they wanted. The next round of talks could determine whether Kessie eventually returns to Serie A with the Bianconeri or chooses another opportunity.
