Juventus are working mostly on finding a goalie, with the possibility of Zion Suzuki joining on loan from PSG currently in the lead, but they could make waves in other roles as well, especially in the midfield, and they are weighing Matias Galarza, who shone during the World Cup, TuttoSport informs.

Luciano Spalletti has often requested a pure ‘regista’ to partner with Manuel Locatelli and their other contributors, and the youngster fits the mold. He broke out with Vasco da Gama and Club Talleres before moving to River Plate. He spent the most recent season on loan at Atlanta United in the MLS, making ten appearances. The 24-year-old has 19 caps with Paraguay to his name.

Galarza would be a particularly affordable option for Juventus, as he could depart for just €6M. On the other hand, the Bianconeri have to sort offload several excess midfielders before bringing in a new one.

While Douglas Luiz appears to have won over Spalletti, the club has to find a suitable solution for Arthur, Fabio Miretti, and especially Teun Koopmeiners. According to Romeo Agresti, Frank Kessié will be an option as long as he’s available, but he has to lower his demands a little, and the Old Lady needs to make room first.

Our Take on Juventus and Galarza

It wouldn’t hurt to bet on a cheap talent who could add some technique and distribution skills. It wouldn’t be surprising if they found a younger one down the line. However, given how much they have to do beforehand, the midfield will take its final shape only down to the wire, and, if they sign one player, it’ll probably end up being Kessié.
