The respective transfer teams at Juventus and Inter Milan are ready to fight it out for an up-and-coming midfield talent, according to reports.
The player in question? Khéphren Thuram.
The name of France international Thuram has long featured prominently in the headlines in Turin, with Juve understood to have placed him high on the club’s wishlist, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
The Bianconeri have been tracking the 22-year-old since the summer, with director Cristiano Giuntoli viewing him as a potential star in the making.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then Juventus will not have it all their own way in the race for Thuram’s services.
This comes amid claims that Scudetto rivals Inter Milan are now expressing a keen interest in his signature, too.
As per a report from Il Corriere dello Sport, via TuttomercatoWeb, the Nerazzurri are considering a move for Thuram next summer.
The midfielder, for his part, has no intention of penning fresh terms with OGC Nice, ahead of the expiration of his contract in 2025.
His price-tag is therefore expected to drop to around €40 million in the summer, with Juve and Inter, primed for battle on the pitch this weekend, ready to face off in the boardroom, too.
