Juventus likes Parma midfielder with an expiring contract | OneFootball

Adrian Bernabe has experienced both good and difficult periods at Parma since joining the Serie A side in 2021 from Manchester City.

Since then, he has established himself as one of the finest players in the Parma team and has remained with the club through at least one promotion back up. He continues to be one of the recognisable names in the country and is now approaching the end of his contract.

Bernabe will be out of contract at the end of this season, which has put several top Italian clubs on alert. They see him as a player who can perform well for them and believe he could strengthen their squads.

Juventus are one of the clubs interested in a move for Bernabe, according to Tuttomercatoweb, as they believe he could be a fine addition to their squad.

The men in black and white see Bernabe as a top and experienced player who could become a superb squad player for them. They are therefore considering offering him a deal as a free agent when his current contract expires.

The opportunity to sign Bernabe without paying a transfer fee could appeal to Juventus, but they face an issue regarding when they can begin negotiations with him. The club cannot reach an agreement with him during January because of his status as a domestic player.

Juventus Face Competition

Juventus can only speak to Bernabe at the end of the season, meaning they cannot secure a pre-contract agreement with him in January.

That puts the Bianconeri in a tricky position because a foreign team could approach him and convince him to sign a pre-contract deal by the start of the new year. Such an opportunity could give overseas clubs an advantage in the race for his signature.

Bernabe’s contract situation therefore leaves Juventus needing to wait before they can make their move. Juve clearly see value in adding him to their squad, but they will have to consider the possibility of competition from foreign teams.

With Bernabe available as a free agent at the end of the season, Juventus will have to wait before they can formally pursue the player, while other clubs could have an opportunity to act sooner.
