Roma and Juventus shared the spoils in a nerve-shredding 3-3 draw in Sunday’s mouth-watering Serie A showdown at the Stadio Olimpico. Despite facing a two-goal deficit heading into the last 15 minutes, the Bianconeri managed to avoid defeat in the capital.

Juventus had hoped to bounce back from three consecutive winless league matches, but they found themselves trailing at the break. Wesley Franca opened the scoring in the 39th minute with an absolute stunner, giving Juventus a mountain to climb in the second half.

However, Francisco Conceicao restored parity only two minutes after halftime, slotting home a contender for the best goal of the season. Still, Juventus’ fragile defense collapsed again, less than ten minutes after the Portuguese winger’s miraculous strike.

Evan Ndicka put Roma 2-1 up, pouncing on Lorenzo Pellegri’s cross. Things soon got worse for the visitors, as Donyell Malen continued his superb form since joining Roma from Aston Villa in January to make it 3-1 in the 65th minute. Though it seemed like Juventus were destined for a fourth consecutive away loss, Luciano Spalletti’s side found the strength to fight back.

Second-half substitute Jeremie Boga inspired the comeback with a delightful finish into the bottom corner before Federico Gatti powered home a last-gasp equalizer to rescue a point for Juventus. Despite extending their unbeaten run against Roma to six matches, the Turin giants remain four points adrift of the fourth-placed Giallorossi in the Serie A standings.

Juventus (4-2-3-1)

Mattia Perin – 4/10

It’s never easy for a goalkeeper when his defense offers so little protection, but Perin did himself no favours. Apart from a decent save to thwart Niccolo Pisilli in the first half, he failed to inspire confidence.

Pierre Kalulu – 7/10

Another encouraging performance from the Frenchman, who participated in Juventus’ attack without disregarding his defensive duties.

Gleison Bremer – 5/10

You would expect more from one of the best Serie A center-backs, who lost track of Malen on several occasions.

Lloyd Kelly – 4/10

Compared to Kelly, Bremer’s display looked almost assured. The ex-Bournemouth ace endured a torrid evening at the Olimpico, repeatedly caught out of position and slow to react in key moments

Andrea Cambiaso – 6/10

Despite putting in a shift, the Italian wingback wasn’t up to his high standard tonight, with his attacking contribution leaving a lot to be desired.

Teun Koopmeiners – 7/10

The former Atalanta playmaker pulled all the strings in the middle of the park. Calm and collected in possession, he emerged as Juve’s driving force in the engine room.

Khephren Thuram – 5/10

Unlike his Dutch teammate, Thuram had a disappointing evening, struggling to impose himself physically while lacking his usual authority in duels.

Weston McKennie – 6/10

Couldn’t find another highlight moment, though came close to scoring shortly before Wesley’s opener, only to see his glancing header fly a whisker wide of the far post.

Kenan Yildiz – 4/10

Juventus desperately needed someone to provide a moment of brilliance in the opening 75 minutes, but their standout performer had a night off.

Francisco Conceicao – 8/10

It would be unsurprising if he lifts the ‘Ferenc Puskas’ award for what he did tonight. To call his strike spectacular would be an understatement.

Jonathan David – 3/10

Cut off from the rest of the team for most of the game, the out-of-sorts Canadian striker faltered once again. Dusan Vlahovic cannot recover soon enough.

Substitutes

Jeremie Boga – 8/10

Edon Zhegrova – 6/10

Fabio Miretti – 5/10
