Juventus are considering a paid loan with a £30M purchase option for Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders before the transfer deadline, as per reports from Italy.

City signed Reijnders from AC Milan for £46 million last summer after a breakthrough campaign in Serie A for the Dutchman, who penned a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Reijnders was a quick hit upon his arrival in England but struggled for minutes in the second half of Pep Guardiola‘s final campaign in Manchester, raising doubts over his prospects under new City boss Enzo Maresca.

Despite being dealt uneven minutes, the midfielder finished his debut season with seven goals and seven assists in 47 appearances for the Sky Blues.

However, Elliot Anderson’s arrival has renewed uncertainty about Reijnders, with Maresca continuing his search for further reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Report: Juventus devise £30M Reijnders transfer formula

According to TuttoSport, Juventus haven’t given up and are devising a new plan to make the Reijnders move easier. Luciano Spalletti is planning an initial paid loan with an option to purchase the Dutchman for approximately £30m.

This would help the Old Lady to assess Reijnders before making a big financial commitment. Reports suggest that the Italian side need to offload a few extras before they can bring in more players.

The timing is quite beneficial for Juventus as Man City are going through a transition under new manager Maresca. The Italian gaffer is also planning on adding Lille youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi to his squad, which might further help Juventus’ cause.

Nevertheless, Reijnders has been pretty involved under Maresca during the club’s pre-season campaign, indicating that an exit might not be on the cards. The Dutchman was included in the starting line-up in the friendly against Inter Milan, playing alongside Mateo Kovacic in a double pivot.

However, it is important to note that the World Cup players are yet to arrive at the Etihad. Having played for England in the summer tournament, Anderson isn’t a part of the pre-season squad yet.

Likewise, his arrival will shake things up as Maresca might devise a different double pivot with the Englishman at his disposal. Despite the competition, it will be better for the Italian manager to hold onto experienced midfield depth following Bernardo Silva’s departure, with Rodri’s future uncertain.
