Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal ‘love’ Kenan Yildiz but stated that Juventus will not be letting him leave this summer.

Yildiz is among several top-class forwards Arsenal are considering in the final stages of the transfer window, with Victor Osimhen, Julian Alvarez and Nico Williams all on their shortlist, too. Gunners scouts view Yildiz as one of the best young players in the world, capable of starring as either a left winger or central attacking midfielder.

Arsenal have twice made enquiries for the Turkish international this summer, to see if there is any chance Juve might consider his sale.

But Yildiz will not be going anywhere, according to Romano. The journalist said on YouTube: “Today, Luciano Spalletti, the manager of Juventus, clarified the situation of Kenan Yildiz.

“We spent the last few weeks hearing about Yildiz and Arsenal.

“The point is that there is no fresh update on Yildiz and Arsenal because to come out and say, ‘Arsenal love Yildiz,’ I don’t think that’s big news.

“It’s been since [a] long time [that] Arsenal appreciate Kenan Yildiz. Mikel Arteta, Andrea Berta, everyone loves the player. That’s not new.

“Luciano Spalletti today says, ‘They can offer whatever they want, €100m [£86m] or whatever, we are Juventus. We are ready to offer Kenan Yildiz what he wants. We are already giving him what he needs.’

“So, Juventus plan with Kenan Yildiz. Luciano Spalletti says, ‘He is too important, Kenan Yildiz, for us.’

“So, [I’m] not anticipating any exit for the Turkish winger.”

Juve have managed to tie Yildiz down to a contract that runs until June 2030, putting them in a very strong position.

It seems Arsenal may have to pivot towards Athletic Club’s Williams if they want to add an elite replacement for Gabriel Martinelli to Mikel Arteta’s squad in the final days of the window.

The reigning Premier League champions have already missed out on players such as Morgan Rogers, Vinicius Junior and Bradley Barcola.

Arsenal have maintained contact with Atletico Madrid for Alvarez, knowing he wants to leave the Spanish club.

But Alvarez’s dream is to join Barcelona, while Atleti are simply refusing to consider his sale.
