Juventus reach general agreement with Lille for Tiago Djalo

Max Allegri’s Juventus want to sign Lille’s Tiago Djalo in January and they have a general agreement with the Ligue 1 side.

Djalo has been heavily linked with a move to Inter, who would like to sign the Portuguese on a free transfer in the summer when his contract at Les Dogues expires. But Juve have also been in the race for the 23-year-old, who is just returning from a serious knee injury.

La Gazzetta dello Sport now state that Juve are indeed trying to beat Inter by signing Djalo this month. They know that they would have to pay a compensation of about €2 million and bonuses of a similar amount to convince Lille and talks between the two clubs have brought about a general agreement. It is now only about whether Juve actually pay that amount or not, since Lille do not want to lose the player on a free transfer.

Juve hope that their excellent relations with Lille help convince Djalo in moving to the Bianconeri instead of waiting for Inter in the summer. Alex Sandro will leave in the summer and Dean Huijsen is nearing a Roma move. The expectation is that Lille won’t see Djalo as a regular for the next five months and that could convince him about a Juve move.
