Juventus are ready to rival Chelsea’s interest in signing Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo.
Chelsea have approached Nottingham Forest to discover their asking price for the 21-year-old, who shone after moving to the City Ground from Corinthians in an £11m deal last summer.
Juventus have also enquired into the demands for the defender, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilian is viewed as a potential alternative to Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori, amid competition from Liverpool and Spurs for the Italy international.
However, Juventus will find it difficult to meet Nottingham Forest’s valuation of the player with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side having set an asking price of around £70m in a bid to dissuade the growing interest in the player.
Forest are also in a stronger negotiating position having helped ease their Premier League Profit and Sustainability (PSR) concerns with the sale of fellow centre-back Moussa Niakhaté to Lyon for a fee of £20m this week.
The Midlands side are reluctant to lose Murillo, who was named Nottingham Forest’s Player of the Season in 2023-24, with the club confident the defender will develop into a full Brazil international. Murillo ranked third in Europe’s top five leagues for clearances last season (188).
