La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus have resumed talks with Atletico Madrid over Alexander Sorloth after Luciano Spalletti’s criticism of Randal Kolo Muani.
Juventus are still working to add a new centre-forward to their team, and according to Gazzetta, they have resumed talks for Atletico Madrid’s Sorloth in recent hours.

The Old Lady’s move comes after Spalletti’s strong remarks on Kolo Muani, the most expensive Juventus signing this summer, who returned to Turin from PSG on a permanent €38m deal plus €12m add-ons.
Although Spalletti had been pushing for the purchase of Kolo Muani for several months, he is now targeting another attacking reinforcement, ideally a classic centre-forward.

As Football Italia has already highlighted, this means the Italian tactician prefers Sorloth to Manchester United’s Josha Zirkzee, so Juventus have resumed talks with the Colchoneros in recent hours.
The two parties have once again discussed a potential swap deal involving Nico Gonzalez, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Atletico Madrid and wants to return there before the end of the transfer window on September 1.
Juventus and Atletico Madrid already discussed this deal in June, before Giovanni Carnevali was appointed the Old Lady’s new CEO and Damien Comolli departed.
