Juventus secure Lucumi for €20m including bonus from Bologna | OneFootball

Multiple sources confirm Juventus are down to the details for a €20m purchase of Jhon Lucumi, as the Bologna defender rejected every other possibility.

It was already known that the player had agreed personal terms with the Bianconeri, and that they were his preference compared to the Premier League, LaLiga or Turkish Super Lig.

This evening Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, Tuttomercatoweb and Fabrizio Romano all confirm that a basic deal has been reached between the two clubs after a day of intensive negotiations.

The cost of the operation is going to be €17-18m plus add-ons to reach a total figure of €20m.

That is considerably less than Bologna had been hoping for, even after the €28m release clause in his contract expired, as they were aiming for €25m.

However, Sportitalia note they realised that Lucumi only had eyes for Juventus and turned down five other proposals to ensure this was his future.

Considering his contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara only runs to the end of this season, he had them over a barrel.

Now the final details are being thrashed out and the Colombia international should have his medical tests over the next 24-48 hours.
